Welcome to Toastmasters of Paris. We’re so glad you found the club and are interested in coming along to see what it’s all about.  

We meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month for two hours of good humour, where we hone our public speaking and listening skills, make new friends and have some laughs over dinner at a local Parisian restaurant.  

• When: First and third Tuesday of each month 
• Where: Les Noces de Jeannette, 14 Rue Favart, 75002 Paris 
• Cost: 39 Euros for a three-course meal, plus apéro and wine. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. 
• Time: 19h00 for a 19h30 start. 

 

What to expect: 

Many of us have become members simply for the joy of meeting others and eating dinner together. The emphasis at the beginning of each evening is on entertainment and there is always a good deal of laughter, with a joke to kick off the proceedings, and the first impromptu talks (called Table Topics) chosen to be light-hearted and fun. 

The next part of the agenda has more serious purpose. Through prepared speeches, people are given the opportunity to hone their speaking and presentation strategies. Objectives covering topics such as ‘motivational strategies’, ‘presentation mastery’, ‘persuasive influence’ and ‘dynamic leadership’ encourage the development of professional leadership skills. 

The final part of the evening consists of feedback – support and encouragement of the evening’s speakers, along with suggestions for progress – all within a safe and friendly environment. It’s the perfect place to overcome fear of public speaking, become a better speaker, become a better listener, and learn how to give effective and constructive criticism.
